Solar Eclipse Spain – 12th August 2026
Solar Eclipse Tours Solar Eclipse Spain – 12th August 2026
The Solar Eclipse Northern Spain
Solar eclipses, like the one we will encounter in Spain this year, is an unparalleled celestial phenomenon.
Have you witnessed it yourself? We have arranged a trip where you can experience or relive a total solar eclipse in northern Spain on August 12, 2026. Not only that, a day later, the Earth will move through the Perseids, the largest meteor shower of the year.
We have chosen to combine these occurrences with the magnificent nature in the Pyrenees, gourmet in Biarritz as well as culture – and gourmet again – in Bordeaux, where our journey begins on August 9.
The Sun is 400 times larger in diameter than the Moon. The Moon is 400 times closer to the Earth. Approximately every 18 months, the two celestial bodies meet each other somewhere on the globe.
The next time in northern Spain. (The following year, in Egypt on August 2, 2027, to which we have also arranged a trip), in Australia on July 22, 2028 and South Africa on November 25, 2030).
But first we shall see the solar eclipse this year, more specifically in the city of Burgos in Northern Spain. Below you can read more about the trip, with the opportunity to register. You are also welcome to call on +45 5273 6316.
Kind regards, Erik Bach Christophersen
Travel plan
Day-to-day overview
Unlike a physical product, a trip is only complete when the trip is over.
Changes will therefore occur and this is also desirable. From the time our trips are offered on the website to the trip itself, it usually takes 6-9 months. It would be quite unusual if an offer did not appear during that period that would be a clear improvement to the overall travel experience. However, significant changes to the overview below will not occur.
All of our trips are based on our guests wanting to join us on new adventures. This is your guarantee that we will strive, to the best of our ability, to ensure that you get a once in a lifetime experience – every time.

Travelogue - Section by Section:
Bordeaux Sunday, August 9th 2026
As mentioned further down in the description, we offer the possibility to extend your trip both before and after the “official” program of the trip.
But all our guests should have shown up during Sunday. We will have something on the program during the day. You can just connect as soon as you arrive.
In the morning we visit Place de la Bourse, famous for its classical architecture and “La Miroir d’eau”. We then take a stroll along the Garonne River and enjoy the view of the bridges and the cityscape.
Rue Sainte-Catherine is one of the longest pedestrian streets in Europe. Here we can enjoy a cup of coffee and a crepe and watch the crowds of people in true French style.
Then on to Palais Rohan, La Cathédrale Saint-André, Grosse Cloche. And just wander around as you please in this most elegant French city.
Sunday evening we will enjoy our shared gourmet dinner consisting of amuse bouche, hors-d’œuvre, plat principal and dessert at La Cité du Vin. Dinner is included in the price, while the wines are between you and the waiter.

Biarritz
Fruits de mer in Biarritz
Monday morning, we head south with our luggage. The destination, the Pyrenean city, Pamplona, in northern Spain.
We are in no hurry, so we have time to make a detour to the city of Biarritz on the Bay of Biscay.
House prices are expensive, in fact close to the prices in Paris. When we get there, you will know why.
Here we will have our lunch, where we have found the perfect spot to enjoy everything exclusive from the sea – with a view of the sea. Lunch is included in the price.
Biarritz, this charming coastal city in France, offers a nice mix of relaxation and exploration for a few hours.
We visit the iconic Grande Plage, the Rocher de la Vierge with panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean and its local surfers, not to mention the picturesque lighthouse.
Biarritz is a beautiful city. We can easily imagine that you would want to go back again.
Pamplona - at the foot of the Pyrenees
Crossing the border between France and Spain, we experience a distinct cultural shift that will be highlighted by our two-day stay in Pamplona, famous for its annual bull run. After settling into our hotel, we head to Plaza del Castillo, the heart of the city, not far from where we will have our Basque dinner.
The next day is set aside for Pamplona. We visit the impressive cathedral, admire its beautiful Gothic architecture and the stunning cloister. We see the Citadel, a star-shaped fortress with magnificent gardens, perfect for a leisurely stroll.
In the afternoon, we can explore the Murallas de Pamplona, the old city walls, with panoramic views. If time permits, Parque de la Taconera is also ideal for walks among lush gardens and peacocks.
We’ll find a cheap and cozy place to eat. This dinner is not included in the price.

Burgos
A Spanish Solar Eclipse
The motto of our trips is “once in a lifetime – every time”. It requires us to make an effort – every time. But for this trip, the sun and moon provide another unforgettable experience: We will see the total solar eclipse 2026 in Spain.
It is a rare event where the Moon completely covers the Sun, creating a striking visual spectacle. During a total solar eclipse, the Sun’s corona becomes visible and emits a halo of light, in sharp contrast to the surrounding darkness.
Our solar eclipse occurs near the city of Burgos. which was founded in the 9th century during the Reconquista, as a base against the Moors. The city grew rapidly due to its favorable location, part of the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage route.
The city’s most famous landmark is the Gothic Burgos Cathedral.
We must not be late for our solar viewpoint. But if we have the time, we will see both the cathedral and the Burgos Castle.
Pamplona Again - Rather Late in the Evening
During our full-day tour/solar eclipse tour in the nature of Northern Spain, we provide provisions of the finest quality. Both French and Spanish cheeses are in our cooler bags. As well as Champagne.
We, at Parnassos, believe that a glass of Champagne enhances the experience during the moon’s occultation of the sun. In our cooler bags you will also find Rioja Grand Cru ham.
We will probably not be back in Pamplona until around 11 p.m. Fortunately, Pamplona – especially known for its festival, The Pamplona bull run (San Fermín) – has a vibrant nightlife.
We could have our late dinner at one of the city’s many tapas bars, where there usually is live music, ranging from traditional Spanish guitar to modern bands.
A bit of adrenaline for the Pamplona youth
Our Last Evening in Elegance
We arrive in Bordeaux in the late afternoon of August 13th. After we have checked into our hotel again, the door is open for our last evening together in Bordeaux.
Here we will have the trip’s fine wine tasting – we have found the perfect place – where a sommelier will tell us about Bordeaux’s fine grapes (the tasting is included in the price).
And then we end the trip with a real, unadulterated French bistro dinner, which is also included in the price. (However, not the accompanying wines). We choose to have this dinner a little late – after all, we are in France, where you don’t have your evening meal before 8.00 p.m. at the earliest.
So, between the wine tasting and dinner, we will go for a short walk to experience the special evening atmosphere in Parc Bordelais, Jardin Public and the old town.
What Exactly do You Get for Your DKK 13,000?

We now have a minimum number of guests for the trip to take place.
A Pre-Party Saturday 8th August 2026
For almost all of our trips, we offer an extra event, which is on a voluntary basis, for guests who arrive a day or two earlier. (Actually, all of our events are voluntary!).
For this trip to Bordeaux, we will suggest a pre-solar eclipse dinner in Bordeaux for those of you who arrive in the city Saturday afternoon, August 8th.
During the purchasing process, we have added such a shopping line. The price for this has been set at 400 DKK, which will go 100% to the dinner itself.
We have not yet chosen the restaurant; we will choose in May 2026. The requirement for this is that superb food is served, then good vibes will follow.
If you would like some practical help with transportation to Bordeaux, please call or write to us.

The Perseides, the night of the 14th August 2026
Since we are in the Pyrenees, you can profit by extending your trip by a day and experience the biggest meteor shower of the year, the Perseids, on the night between August 13 and 14 in the mountains.
The fact that the two great celestial phenomena are so close to each other – just a day apart – is pure luck and definitely worth considering, since we have absolutely ideal conditions.
We will drive late in the evening of August 13, about 20 km away from Pamplona and find a vantage point. We will provide dinner. Experiencing a solar eclipse in northern Spain and the Perseids in the mountains just a day later is indisputably in the once in a lifetime category.
If you choose this option, we will provide extra accommodation, meals and subsequent transport from Pamplona to Bordeaux. The trip will thus be postponed or extended by one day. You will arrive in Bordeaux late in the day on August 14th.
You can add this extra day during the purchase process. We charge DKK 1,200/person which, in addition to the transport back to Bordeaux, covers accommodation with breakfast and dinner.
When you choose the Perseids, you will arrive in Bordeaux a day later than the first group. For group no. 2, there is of course also a wine tasting and dinner, as well as an overnight stay in Bordeaux between August 14th and 15th, which is included in the price.
